These 50 Valentine's Day dinner ideas make it easy to enjoy a special meal at home, with recipes ranging from steak and chicken to pasta, seafood, and healthy options that feel festive without extra work. You'll find romantic choices for two, fun valentines food for a family dinner at home, and even simple Valentine's dinner for kids that still feels like a treat. The list includes meatless and vegetarian meals, gluten-free and low-carb options, plus crockpot, Instant Pot, and air fryer recipes to keep things easy. Pin this collection now so you always have plenty of Valentine's Day recipes ready for a cozy night in.

    Valentine's Day Pizzas

    Heart-Shaped Pizzas
These mini pizzas are a great option for Valentine's Day, if you don't want to make one large family-sized pizza. Each person can have their own pizza (or even a couple of them!). Includes instructions for making heart-shaped toppings.
    Check this out

Homemade Pizza Dough (Baked in the Oven)
This is a very cheap and very easy homemade pizza dough using yeast and flour. It makes a thick crust pizza that your family will devour, and this particular recipe is baked in the oven. Any pizza can be a Valentine's Day pizza if you shape the dough into a heart instead of a circle. Easy peasy. If you're really ambitious, fold the pepperoni in half and snip them into heart shapes with scissors. Don't bother to do this with cheese because they will melt, and you won't see the hearts at all (speaking from experience). I like air fryer mushrooms as a side for this pizza because they don't need the oven, and mushroom-lovers can throw them on the pizza or eat them on the side (recipe below).
    Check this out

    Grilled Pizza Dough
This is a thick-crust pizza dough, cooked on the grill. It needs planning because the yeast dough takes a bit of time to rise, but the actual cooking takes less than 10 minutes. Any pizza can instantly be a Valentine's Day dinner simply by shaping the dough into a heart shape instead of a circle. I like egg and asparagus salad as a side with a grilled pizza because it is light and bright, and cooks mostly in the oven (recipe below).

    BBQ Pulled Pork Pizza
It is so easy to make a pizza into a special Valentine's Day dinner. Simply shape the crust into a heart instead of a circle! This pizza has a reddish color because of the BBQ sauce on the pulled pork, so it's a perfect meal for the holiday. I suggest it with a fancy but light side dish like glazed air fryer carrots (recipe below).

    Chicken Crust Pizza
This is like any pizza that you can easily make in a heart shape, but this one is a zero carb pizza because the crust is made from ground chicken. It is my favorite gluten-free pizza recipe, and I love to serve it with loaded tater tots, which are gluten-free or cauliflower mac and cheese, which is low-carb. (Recipes below.)

    Valentine's Day Pasta Dishes

Easy Ricotta Baked Ziti with Italian Sausage
This is one of my personal favorite meals on the list because it is so cheesy and gooey and delectable. If you like cheese and noodles, this pasta dinner will send you right to heaven. That's why it's on the list; it is just so darn tasty! If you wanted to serve a side with it, I'd suggest something super light, like a BLT side salad (recipe below).
    Check this out
Easy Baked Ziti with Ricotta and Italian Sausage on a spoon
Quick and Easy Baked Ravioli Casserole
This easy pasta casserole is like a lazy lasagna with layers of creamy ricotta and gooey mozzarella in between layers of pillowy ravioli. The tomato sauce makes it red which is perfect for Valentine's Day!
    Check this out
Showing the ooey-gooey cheese on top of baked ravioli
    One Pot Chicken Parmesan Pasta
This quick family dinner is as easy as a casserole but all made in one big pot on the stovetop. You don't even have to boil the noodles! The red sauce makes it lovely for Valentine's Day, and the gooey cheeses and tender, juicy chicken make it a big hit for kids. I like to serve this with pistachio fruit salad for a fun side dish. (Recipe below.)

one pot chicken parmesan pasta with gooey cheese and a wooden spoon
    Easy Pasta Primavera with Pesto
This quick and easy pasta dinner comes together in minutes thanks to an easy shortcut. It's great for Valentine's Day because it is hearty and filling and feels fancy.
    Check this out

Chicken Asparagus Pasta with Alfredo Sauce
This is another super quick family dinner, thanks to an easy shortcut. Anything with asparagus in it feels fancy, so add some extra and delight your family will on Valentine's Day.
    Check this out
Creamy Chicken and Asparagus Pasta with alfredo sauce on a plate with a fork
    Ravioli with Alfredo Sauce
This is an easy pasta dish for Valentine's Day. Loaded with fresh veggies like mushrooms and green onions, this 30-minute meal will have a fancy dinner on the table in no time.
    Check this out

    Buffalo Chicken Pasta Casserole
My teenager loves this easy meal. Imagine buffalo chicken dip and a cheesy pasta casserole had a spicy baby, and this is it. It is a great Valentine's Day pasta dinner for a family that likes their food a little spicy. You can tone it down by adding more ranch dressing to the casserole, scaling back on the buffalo sauce, or mixing in a spoonful or two of sour cream. No matter how you make it, this easy casserole is a big winner for a special holiday meal.
    Check this out

    Chicken Tetrazzini
This is a start-to-finish, 15-minute pasta dish, and it is delicious. I think pasta makes a great choice for Valentine's Day, and this one has asparagus, cheese, and juicy chicken in a creamy sauce, so it's a little fancier than just plain old pasta.
    Check this out

    Valentine's Day Seafood Dinners

    No Filler Crab Cakes
This is my daughter's favorite Valentine's Day meal because she loves crab cakes, and I don't make them very often because crab is so expensive. It's a perfect special occasion meal, though, and if you have seafood-loving kids, this one is a real treat for a family dinner. I like to serve these with air fryer sweet potato fries, because I can dip them both in remoulade sauce. (Sweet potato fries recipe below, use the search button to find remoulade sauce.)
    Check this out
a stack of three crab cakes made with no filler and topped with cajun remoulade sauce
Scallops and Pasta with White Wine Garlic Butter Sauce
Scallops automatically feel fancy. I think it's because they're a real treat for most of us because they're so expensive. This easy recipe combines two Valentine's Day favorites: scallops and pasta, with white wine, fresh garlic, and creamy butter for a restaurant-quality meal at home.
    Check this out
Scallops and pasta with asparagus in a white wine garlic butter sauce on a white plate
Rich Buttered Lemon Shrimp with Old Bay
This quick and easy shrimp recipe is fancy enough for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner but simple enough for a regular old Tuesday. Serve this with some roasted asparagus (recipe below) and garlic bread for a family Valentine's Day dinner.
    Check this out
    rich lemon buttered shrimp
    Spicy Marinated Baked Shrimp
I'm not sure why Valentine's Day makes me think of seafood. (Maybe because it's expensive?) This spicy shrimp needs to sit in the marinade for less than a half hour, so by the time you've prepared a side dish like pan-fried potatoes and onions (recipe below), you'll be ready to cook the shrimp. They're done in minutes, and Valentine's Day dinner will have almost made itself.
    Check this out
Spicy Marinated Baked Shrimp in a cast iron skillet
    Cheesy Shrimp Casserole with Velveeta
This simple casserole combines two Valentine's Day favorites, shrimp and pasta, with gooey cheeses in a warm and creamy comfort food recipe that kids and adults alike will devour.
    Check this out
    Cheesy Shrimp Casserole with Velveeta
Shrimp and Asparagus Stir Fry with Lemon Sauce
Shrimp and asparagus makes this doubly perfect for Valentine's Day. A fresh lemon sauce is bright and interesting, complementing both the shrimp and the asparagus. I like the serve this over plain rice, because it soaks up every drop of that delicious sauce.
    Check this out
shrimp and asparagus stir fry over rice in a white bowl
Air Fryer Garlic Honey Dijon Salmon Bites
You can make a nice piece of salmon go a little further by cutting it into bite-sized pieces and serving it that way. Salmon bites are quick and easy to cook in the air fryer, and the garlic honey dijon sauce I put with them send them to a whole new level. I'd suggest a simple side like roasted asparagus (recipe below).

Valentine's Day Steak Dinners (and Beef, too)

Filet Bryan - Copycat Carrabba's Recipe
If Chicken Bryan is impressive, Filet Bryan is out of this world. Filet Bryan is a copycat Carrabba's recipe that tops juicy filet mignon with tart sun-dried tomatoes, creamy goat cheese, ribbons of fresh basil, and a rich lemon butter sauce in an impressively fancy dinner that will have everyone begging for seconds. It's heaven on a plate.
    Check this out

Air Fryer Prime Rib with Horseradish Rub
Prime rib is a stereotypical Valentine's Day dinner. It's expensive and fancy, and cooking it in the air fryer makes it easier than it's ever been. My kids love this recipe.
    Check this out
air fryer prime rib cut in half on a white plate with fresh parsley
CrockPot Steak with Mushrooms and Onions
The CrockPot does the heavy lifting in this delicious steak dinner. Throw it in the slow cooker in the morning and enjoy a tender and flavorful steak dinner for Valentine's Day!
    Check this out
one serving of CrockPot Steak with Onions and Mushrooms with carrots on a gray plate
Air Fryer Steak Bites with Mushrooms
Steak bites make a great Valentine's Day meal because they're easy and fancy and special! And they are perfectly tender and juicy thanks to the quick cooking in the air fryer.
    Check this out
Air Fryer Steak Bites with Mushrooms in a white bowl with a lemon wedge
    BBQ Meatloaf Muffins
These easy meatloaf muffins are topped with sweet and tangy BBQ sauce or even plain ketchup, which makes them a little more Valentine-y than plain meatloaf. Baked in muffin tins, they are fancy because they're individual portions. Kids love them. I would serve meatloaf muffins with a special Valentine's Day side dish like CrockPot cheesy mashed potatoes (recipe below).
    Check this out
a close up of BBQ Meatloaf Muffins topped with parsley
    Crockpot Meatloaf
This is an easy recipe because the CrockPot does all the work. If you top it with ketchup, it will be red for the holiday. Meatloaf is a special occasion food at my house, so I love it for a family Valentine's Day meal. I'd serve this with red skin mashed potatoes.

    More Valentine's Day Dinner Ideas

Chicken Bryan - Copycat Carrabba's Recipe

Baked Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breasts with Fresh Asparagus
This easy Valentine's Day recipe has a delicious, rich, and creamy Parmesan coating that makes it way better than normal baked chicken. Serve it with a fancy side like roasted asparagus, and you have a restaurant-quality meal in a few minutes at home.
    Check this out

Creamy Swiss Cheese Chicken with Mushrooms
This Swiss cheese chicken is rich and creamy and so delicious. If you have kids who don't like mushrooms, you can replace them with asparagus or carrots, or just leave them out. This meal makes a great Valentine's Day dinner because it's simple and really tasty. I like to serve this with carrot souffle. (Recipe below.)
    Check this out

    French Onion Chicken Casserole
This quick and easy casserole was created to be a low carb, pasta-free casserole, but I often add half of a box of cooked pasta with the chicken to make it more filling. It's a great option for a family dinner; my kids love it!
    Check this out
Scooping out the casserole with a large spoon to be plated
    Balsamic Chicken and Veggies
Balsamic chicken requires marinating the chicken, so you need a little planning ahead for this one. But it is so worth it because this chicken might just be the best you ever ate. It's great for Valentine's Day because it tastes like you spent a lot of time on it - but you didn't! If you throw in enough veggies, this chicken dinner doesn't really need a side dish, but you could whip up some cherry fluff salad for something light (recipe below).
    Check this out
a serving bowl of marinated Balsamic Chicken and Veggies
Zuppa Toscana - Creamy Italian Sausage and Potato Soup
This is the only soup on the list, and I included it because it's a fancy restaurant copycat recipe that a lot of people will recognize. Instead of heading out to the Olive Garden for dinner this Valentine's Day, make a pot of Zuppa Toscana and choose a pasta dish from this list. Your sweetheart will love the simple (and cheap) meal.
    Check this out
a bowl of Zuppa Toscana - Creamy Italian Sausage and Potato Soup with kale and Parmesan cheese with a spoon
    Apricot Stuffed Pork Loin
This simple stuffed pork loin makes a beautiful presentation, and everyone will think you spent all day working on it (but you didn't!). It's fancy enough for a romantic date night for two but accessible enough for the whole family. I serve this with CrockPot mashed potatoes to soak up the delicious gravy that goes with the pork loin (recipe below).
    Check this out

Sweet Balsamic Pork Roast in the Instant Pot
A pork roast is a lovely Valentine's Day meal because everyone knows it is a labor-intensive meal that we don't often take the time to prepare. But that was before the Instant Pot! The IP makes quick work of this easy and delicious balsamic pork roast, and you will love the tasty gravy you can make to serve over red skin mashed potatoes with roasted carrots on the side. (Recipes below.)

    English Cheese and Onion Pie
I first saw this cheese and onion pie on a Thanksgiving special of the Today Show, back in the very early 2000s, and I wrote it down and filed it away and have made it for special occasions a few times. It's easy to make but very heavy, so you'll want a light side with lots of flavor, like roasted beet and feta salad (recipe below).
