This BLT dip takes everything you love about a classic bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich and turns it into a creamy, scoopable appetizer. A rich base of cream cheese, sour cream, ranch seasoning, and bacon gets layered with shredded cheddar, fresh lettuce, juicy diced tomato, and even more bacon on top. It's a cold dip, so there's no oven involved and no last minute baking to worry about before guests arrive. Whether you're setting out a spread for game day, a summer picnic, or just a weeknight snack, this dip comes together in about ten minutes and disappears just as fast.

Why this is the best Easy BLT Dip Recipe

It's quick and easy. This easy BLT dip comes together with very little prep, making it a great last-minute appetizer when you need something delicious without spending a lot of time in the kitchen.

Bacon Lettuce Tomato Dip has all the flavors of a classic BLT. Crispy bacon, juicy tomatoes, fresh lettuce, and a creamy dip base give you everything you love about a BLT sandwich in a fun, scoopable appetizer.

    Cold BLT dipPin

This easy dip is great for parties. Serve this BLT dip for game day, holiday parties, potlucks, summer cookouts, or family get-togethers. It's an easy crowd-pleasing appetizer that works for just about any occasion.

You can make most of your BLT dip ahead. Prepare the creamy base and bacon ahead of time and keep them chilled until you're ready to assemble the dip. Add the lettuce and tomatoes shortly before serving so they stay fresh and crisp.

What you'll need to make the best Easy BLT Dip Recipe

    Equipment

    • Electric mixer - This is to beat the cream cheese. If the cream cheese is soft enough, you may be able to do this with a sturdy whisk, but the mixer will make a creamier, more evenly blended dip ten times out of ten.

See the printable recipe card at the bottom of the page for all measurements and nutritional information.

    Ingredients

    • Cream cheese - This needs to be at room temperature. The easiest way to achieve that is to leave it sit out on the counter for a few hours. Some microwaves also have a "soften" button that will work in a pinch, but your dip will be creamier if you leave it out to warm up naturally.
    • Sour cream or plain Greek yogurt - This thins the cream cheese and makes it more scoopable. Some recipes use mayonnaise but I prefer the creaminess of sour cream. You could try it both ways and see which you like better.
    • Ranch dressing mix - I make this from scratch but you can also buy a packet.
    • Cooked bacon - This needs to be cooked and crumbled. I suggest also patting it dry with a paper towel if it looks greasy.
    • Shredded sharp cheddar cheese - This is my go-to flavor of cheese, but you can use whatever shredded cheese you want. I prefer to buy a bag of shredded cheese because it's easy. I have been doing this for 25 years and don't plan to stop. In this recipe, however, you may find that freshly grated cheese has a softer texture and makes your dip taste better. Now, having said that, we absolutely used pre-shredded cheese in our photos, so do what you want.
    • Shredded lettuce - Any lettuce is fine. We have used iceberg lettuce and romaine lettuce with good results.
    • Roma tomato - Roma tomatoes are nice for eating raw, but any tomato that you like to eat fresh and uncooked will work in your dip.

How to make easy Easy BLT Dip Recipe

    Instructions

    1. In a large mixing bowl, mix the cream cheese, sour cream, ranch mix, and half of the bacon with a hand mixer. Spread this mixture in the bottom of your baking dish.

    Cook's Tips

You can make this dip ahead. It's best to prep the cream cheese, sour cream, ranch, and bacon base a day in advance and store it separately, then add the cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and remaining bacon on top just before serving. That keeps the dip looking fresh longer.

    Substitutions & variations

You can use regular, thick-cut, turkey, or center-cut bacon in this BLT dip. Cook the bacon until crisp so it adds plenty of crunch and smoky flavor.

For an extra cheesy dip, you could also mix some shredded cheese directly into the creamy base.

Add diced avocado just before serving to turn it into a BLTA dip. A couple chopped green onions, chives, or red onion also adds extra flavor and color.

For a little heat, add diced jalapeños, a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes, or a drizzle of hot sauce.

Serve BLT dip with crackers, toasted baguette slices, tortilla chips, kettle cooked potato chips, pita chips, pretzel crisps, or sturdy fresh vegetables. For a lower-carb option, use carrot sticks, cucumber slices, celery sticks, mini sweet bell peppers, or lettuce leaves.

    Storing leftover BLT dip

This dip is best eaten within the first day or two. The lettuce wilts and the tomato releases moisture over time, so the top layer gets watery and less appealing the longer it sits.

You can refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.

Do not freeze. Cream cheese and sour cream based dips tend to separate and turn grainy after being in the freezer and thawing, and the lettuce and tomato wouldn't hold up at all.
