5 Awesome Free Bible Verse Wallpapers for Smart Phones

I like my phone. I think I look at it about 3,759 times a day.

I also like the Bible. I wish I could say I look at it 3,759 times a day, but that would be a big fat lie.

Something you might have guessed about me is that scripture memory is important to me. I like having Bible verses in the corners of my brain, ready to take out and dust off when the moment requires, when I'm having a bad day or when a friend needs comfort.

I'm also a big word nerd, so the sound bite quality of many Bible verses really appeals to me.

Don't misunderstand me – there is tremendous value in looking a verse up and reading the context and learning about the author and the time during which it was written. These are vital to understanding the Word of God.

But while that is true, there is something inherently satisfying about knowing I have just the right verse at the right time. Like when I lost my job and Jeremiah 29:11 wouldn't leave my consciousness:

I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans for future and hope.

Even though I think scripture memory is important, I just haven't made time or space in my days for sitting down and trying to memorize. That is boring to me, and I can think of a hundred other things I'd rather be doing with my time, most notably writing, playing with my kids, or crocheting.

So I've had to come up with sneaky ways to learn scripture. One of these ways is through beautiful posters hanging all around my house. I put them in dollar store frames and on kitchen cabinets, and I say them to myself and remember.

Another way I've taken to learning scripture is through the lock screen on my phone. I can put a verse on the lock screen and every time I look at the phone, there's my verse. And since I look at my phone 3,759 times a day, I soon learn that verse.

I made up these 5 beautiful lock screen/wallpapers for my phone and yours, although I didn't put complete verses on them this time. I wanted them to be pretty and simple and the text to be large, so I just pulled out the most important phrase or phrases from each. They are like an invitation from God – "My child, open my Word and read about Me."

The reason I didn't include the whole verses is that I sized these for my phone - an iPhone X - but I know that phone screens vary considerably. I wanted you to be able to zoom in or shrink the graphic as needed without losing the text because a graphic with missing text would be stupid, and you would never use it.

    The verses I included are Psalm 46:10, Psalm 107:1, Proverbs 3:5, Micah 6:8, and 1 Peter 1:6.

If you like these and find them useful, let me know. I can always create more in the future.
