I know I shouldn't blog about this, but it made me laugh so hard, I just couldn't resist. Sorry, sister, if you are reading and get mad at me all over again.
Today, Joe and I stopped by my parents' house to pay off the last bit of a loan my dad gave us (to buy a car) last year. Because he knew my dad would be in the basement, Joe went around to the back door, talked to my dad, and then left through the back door.
My 27-year-old sister, who still lives with our parents, was apparently watching through the living room window. As Joe got back in the car, my cell phone rang.
Caller: “Why are you sitting in front of my house?”
Me: “Because I wanted to.”
Me: “What difference does it make?”
Caller: “Maybe I'll have you arrested for trespassing.”
Me: “I wasn't on your property; I was in the street.”
Caller: “Joe was on my property; I saw you pick him up. What were you guys doing over here?”
Me: “It's none of your business.”
Caller: “Seriously. Why were you sitting in front of my house?“
Me: “Seriously. It's none of your business.”
Me, to husband: “I think she just hung up on me.”
You would think I was a criminal or something. After I hung up, Joe said “You should have told her that you had business with the land owner.” I bet that would really have made her mad.
