My new job is stressful. There are a lot of balls to juggle and much more information than my feeble brain can handle.
Every day, I feel like I am one forgotten tidbit away from total failure. It's not that I'm afraid of failure; it's more like a constant pressure to remember every little thing and act on it.
Do you feel stressed?
It doesn't matter whether your stress is job stress or kid stress or financial stress or household mess stress. It all weighs down on us.
Stress is not worry exactly. I've shared Bible verses on worry and anxiety before, but this isn't the same as that.
I'm not meditating on my fears. I'm not letting them run away in my mind. I just feel overwhelmed with all the necessities in my head.
Stress, to me, is more physical than worry. I said just now it's like a weight, and it is. I feel it in my shoulders, my neck, and my head. There is tension and heaviness. It makes me grit my teeth.
Your stress might make you feel trapped or overwhelmed. Maybe you're tired. Your mental energies are probably zapped.
So what can you do about it?
Prayer is a great start.
Prayer is a great back-up plan.
Have I mentioned that prayer might help?
I jest, but prayer really is the beginning and the end of the solution. Prayer and meditating on scripture can calm your thoughts and soothe your mind, and a calm mind will eventually lead to peace.
And a shoulder massage isn't a bad idea, either.
Just saying.
Consider claiming these thirteen verses in prayer over your stressful situation:
When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. -Psalm 94:19
I know the lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. -Psalm 16:8
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” -Matthew 11:28-30
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. -Romans 8:28
Be still, and know that I am God! -Psalm 46:10a
Trust in the lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. -Proverbs 3:5-6
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:6-7
This is my command – be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the lord your God is with you wherever you go. -Joshua 1:9
I prayed to the lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. In my desperation I prayed, and the lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles. -Psalm 34:4-6
Have you never heard?
Have you never understood?
The lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
He gives power to the weak
and strength to the powerless.
Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in the lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint. -Isaiah 40:28-31
Commit everything you do to the lord. Trust him, and he will help you. -Psalm 37:5
Give your burdens to the lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. -Psalm 55:22
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. -James 1:2-4

Thank you so much for putting these together! I just finished your compilations on anger and resentment, and on stress. I will reread these again frequently I am sure. May God bless you as you have blessed me.
