Air Fryer Turkey Burgers turn ground turkey into moist, juicy patties that cook fast and stay tender using an easy air fried method. These homemade burgers are seasoned just right and make a healthy, high-protein dinner that fits keto, low carb, and gluten free eating without extra fuss. You’ll learn how to make turkey burgers that don’t dry out, including how to season them so air fryer turkey burgers come out the best every time.
In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix well with your hands.
Divide the meat mixture in half and form each into a patty.
Place the turkey patties in the air fryer and cook at 375° F for 15-20 minutes, until they reach an internal temperature of 155-160°F (see note below). Every air fryer is different, and some may take up to 25 minutes to cook the burgers completely. Using a meat thermometer is very important in this recipe.
Add cheese to the burger patties and air fry for 1 more minute. Turn off the air fryer and allow the burgers to rest for 5 minutes.
Optional: Toast the buns. Brush the cut side of the buns with melted butter and place them, cut side up, in the air fryer at 350ºF for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. You can only toast one or two buns at a time because they need to have room for the air to circulate.
Serve with your favorite toppings on a bun or in a lettuce wrap.
Notes
In order to be safely cooked, turkey must reach an internal temperature of 165ºF, but the temperature will continue to rise during the five-minute resting time after you turn off the air fryer. If you plan to put cheese on the burgers, it is best to do so when the burgers are around 155ºF and then allow it to melt and turn off the air fryer when the burgers reach an internal temperature of 160ºF. The temperature will reach 165ºF while they sit.I use a Temp Spike wifi thermometer that allows me to keep the probe inside the burgers with the air fryer door closed, so I can clearly see the internal temperature without disrupting cooking by opening the air fryer.Nutritional information is for one burger patty with cheese and does not include bun or toppings.
