This crockpot shredded chicken cooks low and slow with simple seasonings until it is juicy, tender, and easy to shred with two forks. It is a meal prep essential that works in tacos, salads, sandwiches, soups, and so much more.
Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Sprinkle evenly with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Pour the chicken broth over the chicken.
Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shreddable.
Shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks or remove it to a chicken shredding tool.
Stir the chicken into the cooking juices.
Serve on brioche buns or use for meal prep. Add BBQ sauce if desired and garnish with parsley before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days or in the freezer up to 2 months. Be sure to thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating frozen chicken.
