Banana Upside Down Cake

This is the best easy banana upside down cake recipe. This simple and tasty recipe starts with a boxed cake mix and adds ripe bananas, butter, and brown sugar to make a gooey caramelized topping. It's going to be your new favorite dessert!

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • Combine butter and brown sugar and spread evenly in the bundt pan.
  • Top with chopped pecans.
  • Arrange sliced bananas over the pecans.
  • Prepare the cake mix according to package directions except reduce the oil required by ¼ cup to account for the liquid contained in the mashed bananas.
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until cake tester inserted in the thickest part of the cake comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool for 10 to 15 minutes, then invert on a serving platter. You may have to scrape some of the nut mixture out of the pan if it sticks.
