6 Reasons to Let Your Kids Watch Doc McStuffins’ School of Medicine Week

I will be the first to admit that I allow my kids to watch some tv. There are shows they are permitted to watch (Disney Jr, PBS, some Nick Jr), and shows they are not allowed to watch (I’m looking at you, SpongeBob). There’s actually a pretty long list of things they’re not allowed to watch – too grown up, too mouthy, too privileged, too risqué, just too much. I schedule our Tivo to bounce around in the mornings from one favorite show to the next. We pick up Jake and Sophia and Bubble Guppies and Dora. Grace loves Fetch … Read more

Grace’s All That Glitters Party

All That Glitters cupcakes

Now that her new and improved bedroom is finished, Grace wanted to have a big public reveal. We invited a few friends to come over and enjoy a little party. When this sponsored campaign with Disney and Glidden began, I assumed that Grace would want to makeover her pink bedroom into a sparkly princess bedroom. Not too ambitious, right? Joe is a capable painter. I knew he could handle her request. Our first step was to find stencils of Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. I couldn’t find stencils of Peter … Read more

Disney Paint Creates A Magic Room

Do you remember when we painted Grace’s bedroom? I wrote about it a lot when we did it, back in 2010. Well, we’re at it again. No, we are not removing the pink. I’m pretty sure that room will still have hot pink walls when our little grandchildren come over to visit. But now, the pink is way cooler than before. Our story begins at Walmart. I didn’t realize it, but our Walmart (and yours too, I imagine) has a whole paint section. Part of that paint section is Disney Paint, a new line of paints available only at Walmart. … Read more
