Quick and Easy Salsa Chicken Pasta

Quick and easy salsa chicken pasta - This simple recipe uses packaged ingredients to make a healthy lunch or dinner for the whole family. Cheap casserole meal idea for busy moms.

I feel like a broken record when I saw that I prefer to make food from fresh, whole ingredients that I’ve prepared myself, but that sometimes, that just doesn’t work out.

For the times that we get home late or spent too much time playing outside, we need quick and easy options that come together quickly.

We had the opportunity to try out Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Strips this week, and they fit the bill perfectly.

Tyson Grilled Chicken Breast & Strips are fully cooked, 98% fat-free whole breast fillets without preservatives or breading. They’re a quick and easy way to enjoy grilled chicken without the grill.

  1. Prepare pasta according to package directions.
  2. Heat olive oil over medium heat. When it is hot, add onion and sauté until just beginning to soften. Add garlic and zucchini. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, then add chicken strips and taco seasoning.
  3. When chicken is warm and veggies are tender, add salsa, alfredo or cheese sauce, and olives. Heat a few more minutes.
  4. Add pasta to the pan, continue cooking until evenly heated.
  5. To serve, sprinkle with cheese and fresh cilantro, and garnish with a small dollop of sour cream.

Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken Cost

My only reservation with this product is the cost, $7.98 for 22 ounces at our local Walmart. That’s $5.80 per pound. We usually buy boneless skinless chicken only when it’s on sale for under $1.50 per pound. However, when you consider that we were pressed for time and might have otherwise chosen to go out to eat or get take out ($30 to eat out, $25 to have our favorite pizza delivered, or $20 for Chinese take out), it is a huge bargain.
