Mexican Burgers
  • 1pound ground chuckor chopped steak
  • 1/4cup cornmeal
  • 1/2cup salsadrained (discard the liquid – It will make your burgers too moist, and then they will fall apart on the grill. We learned this the hard way. If your burger mixture seems too wet, put down aluminum foil on the grill grates before you grill the burgers. That will prevent your supper from falling down through the grates.)
  • 2tablespoons World Harbors Mexican-style Fajita sauce(I suppose you could skip this and not drain the salsa, but this gives the burgers an awesome smoky flavor.)
  • 1/4 Cheddar cheeseshredded
  • 1/4cup cilantrocoarsely snipped
  • 2cloves garlicpressed
  • 1/4teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2teaspoon salt
  • Adash pepper
  1. These instructions are really complicated. Try to follow along. I'll go slowly.
  2. Mix everything together.
  3. Form patties.
  4. Cook.
  5. Eat.
Recipe Notes

Joe likes to sauté some sliced onions in olive oil or butter, toss them in a tablespoon or two of the Mexican-style Fajita sauce, and top the burgers with them. We don't do that every time, but often enough to mention.
