Peaches and Cream Stuffed Waffles with Cream Cheese Syrup

Peaches and Cream Stuffed Waffles

It’s a Week of Waffles at Feels Like Home! Being that I’m a Chief Waffle Officer, I’ll be posting waffle recipes featuring Eggo Waffles all week – from April 1 to April 7. I’ll share some breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, and dessert recipes, so make sure you come back each day for my most recent creation! (In the interest of disclosure – Eggo Waffles are not gluten-free. I did sample this recipe, and it was {like the rest of them} delicious.) This recipe is inspired by stuffed french toast, an indulgence I adore. I figured if it was good with bread, it would be even better … Read more

Baked Apple Pecan Pancakes

baked apple pecan pancake

We have breakfast for dinner very, very rarely. There’s no reason in particular; we all love breakfast foods. It’s just that we normally eat our breakfast foods for breakfast. At this stage in my pregnancy, I am hungry. Starving. Almost all the time. Even though I’m constantly hungry, I’m experiencing intense food aversions. A lot of the foods we’d normally consider for supper are making me nauseous. In many cases, the mere idea of the foods is making me nauseous. I can’t explain it. I have been eating a lot of baked potatoes, but my poor family is craving some … Read more

Snow Candy – Perfect Fun for a Blizzard

Last night, we went to bed with about 2 inches of snow on the ground. Joe shoveled the driveway and Grace played with her little shovel, by the glow of the car’s headlights. Afterward, we rode sleds in the backyard in the mostly dark. There was just enough snow to make the grass slick and make the sled fly. It’s never completely dark when it’s snowing that heavily. The snow glitters and sparkles as it falls. It glows. We came in from the cold and fixed a bubble bath and hot cocoa for Grace. She enjoyed her chocolate in the … Read more

Honey Maple Glazed Pork Chops

I’m not a big fan of pork chops. In my experience, they often have the consistency of leather and no flavor to speak of. Joe came home recently with 25 pounds of pork chops. When I questioned his purchase, he said, “I got a good deal.” A good deal. It’s only a good deal if we’ll use it. Since Joe does a lot of the day to day cooking, and Joe likes pork chops, we’ve been eating them pretty often. Knowing that I don’t care much for them, he’s been experimenting to find a recipe that works for both of … Read more

Mom’s French Toast Casserole

When I was small, I remember my mom making this decadent recipe on special occasions. She made it for Christmas morning sometimes, and we often ate it when my Grandma visited. If we were going to be home on Christmas morning, we’d be eating this for sure. Except, we won’t be home, we’ll be traveling. Tomorrow, however, we are having my parents and sister over for brunch and opening presents. It’s the perfect time for Mom’s French Toast Casserole!   Print Recipe Mom’s French Toast Casserole Servings Ingredients 1 pound bread cut into cubes and divided in half12-16 oz cream … Read more
