I love brussels sprouts. I know they’re an often hated vegetable, but I think they are really yummy, especially when roasted and mixed with bacon. Because, you know, bacon.  We have been making these roasted brussels sprouts for years, and we always enjoy them.  Because the bacon and pecans are totally optional, you can take the extra time to add them if you have it, or you can leave them out and have awesome brussels sprouts a little quicker. They’re great either way. But come on. Bacon. Anyway, have you ever seen a brussels sprouts plant? It’s a curious stalk … Read more

The Best Broccoli Salad Recipe

The Best Broccoli Salad You'll Ever Eat

I love broccoli. I love it raw, baked, drenched in cheese, and splashed with balsamic vinegar. I’ve never met a broccoli dish I didn’t like. Suddenly, it was the night before our feast, and we still hadn’t decided on a recipe. I took matters into my own hands. I was glad to have a couple of bags of Beneforté® broccoli. It’s washed, cut in bite-sized pieces, and ready to use, so … Read more

I may share in the days ahead; I may not. At any rate, Blogalicious was awesome. The people were fabulous, and the hotel was palatial. Every event was brilliantly planned, and the food was sumptuous, better than any conference food I’ve ever eaten. Oh, the food. On Saturday night, Aunt Jemima sponsored a late night breakfast for dinner meal that featured Chef Aaron McCargo, Jr, better known as … Read more

My husband, bless his soul, makes breakfast for Grace and I every morning before he leaves for work. Often, he makes chocolate chip pancakes or pours a bowl of cereal. I think I’m going to add these biscuits to our morning rotation. I think they’d be awesome cut in half and made into an egg and cheese sandwich. This guest post if from my friend, Angie, whose blog, The Jammie Girl, is part chat with a girlfriend over a glass of sweet tea, part conversation overheard in the grocery store checkout line, and part Thanksgiving dinner with the crazy branch … Read more

My Favorite Greek Salad

There is a groundhog devouring our cucumber plants, so we haven’t harvest a single one yet. Lots of zucchini, loads of leeks, handfuls of green beans, but not a single cucumber. I’m sad about the lack of cucumbers. They’re one of my favorite veggies. Ideally, the fresh ingredients for this recipe could come from your garden. If you don’t have a garden, or a large rodent is eating yours, get them from a local farm stand if you can. They’ll taste better than the ones at the grocery store.
