Caramel Apple Strudel
  1. Heat oven to 375. Spray large cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  2. In a 10-inch skillet, cook apple, caramel topping and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until apple is tender.
  3. Unroll dough onto cookie sheet. Spoon apple mixture lengthwise down center of dough; spread to within 1/2 inch of edges. Sprinkle with pecans. Starting with short side, roll up; firmly pinch edges to seal.
  4. In a small bowl, mix sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Brush dough with egg. Sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Make 3 slits 2 inches apart on top of dough.
  5. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until deep golden brown.
Recipe Notes

Serves 8, unless you love it as much as Joe and I did. Then it serves 2 nicely.

**Our local supermarket did not have the Pillsbury Crescent Recipe Creations. That was a bummer. The Crescent Recipe Creations dough is a new product that’s basically Pillsbury Crescent Roll dough that’s not been perforated to make into rolls. I’ve never actually used Pillsbury Crescent Roll Dough to make crescent rolls. I always use it to make pizza or some other delicious concoction, and I was looking forward to trying out the Crescent Recipe Creations. Anyway, we were only able to find the regular crescent rolls, so we went with them. The results were great, but the perforations came apart a little when Joe rolled it up.
