    Chocolate Fudge Pie

Last Friday, I had a sleep study. It wasn't my first sleep study, but in this particular study, I had to sleep for fifteen minutes out of every two hours. At first I was bummed about missing a day of work for a sleep study, but then I realized - I was going to have a whole day to do - whatever - I - wanted. Woah! It was pretty awesome. I got a lot of writing done. For part of the day, I had the television on in the background. One of the segments I saw was Mr. Food, who was preparing a pie that looked magnificently delicious. I got the ingredients to make it for my family dinner this Sunday. I'll have to let you know how it goes.

    • 1 oz unsweetened chocolate (3 squares)
    • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk (1 can)
    • 2 eggs
    • ¼ cup butter softened, ½ stick
    • ⅛ teaspoon salt

    • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
    • In a small bowl, combine water and cornstarch; set aside.
    • In a medium saucepan, melt chocolate in sweetened condensed milk over low heat, stirring occasionally. Add cornstarch mixture, eggs, butter, and salt; mix until smooth. Remove from heat and add pecan halves, if desired; mix well and pour into crust.
    • Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean.
    • Allow to cool on a wire rack then cover and chill at least 2 hours before serving.
