Our First Sensory Tub

I’ve seen Allie on No Time for Flash Cards do sensory tubs over and over, and I’ve never understood the draw.

They seemed messy and pointless.

Turns out that they are messy, but they are far from pointless.

We’ve been playing with these lentils and popcorn kernels for over a week.

  1. Sensory children LOVE messy. Can't wait to read the rest of the story tomorrow! Thanks for the WW link-up. You're a gem!

  2. Oh – sensory tubs are the BEST. We have a local fair for children where we fill entire POOLS with sensory items like ice, salt, dried beans, cotton balls (fun to use with tongs), oatmeal, rice, etc.

You can never overestimate the power of filling and dumping. And it's a great porch or outside activity as well!

  3. Wow. I love this. we did a simple version with birdseed last summer outside. I am so excited to try this with my daughter. Thanks you for sharing this great idea!

  4. You're so right…sensory tubs are great for kids, however messy they may be. Looks like she's having a great time!
Thanks for stopping by and linking your WW post up earlier this week. I'm sorry it's taken so long for me to stop by. I'm slowly making my way to everyone's blog. Thanks again. Have a great day!
