More Whole Day Food Plans for Toddlers

Last week, I shared two whole day food plans for your toddler. Below are two more food plans, based on a different combination of foods and servings. As last week, I compiled these menus from the preschoolers area of

Toddler Menu #1

  • 1 slice of whole grain toast with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter spread on top
  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1/2 apple
  • 1 string cheese

  • A mini pizza – Spread 2 tablespoons of spaghetti sauce on 1/2 of a whole grain English muffin. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of chopped mixed veggies and 1 1/2 tablespoons of shredded mozzarella cheese. Warm in a toaster oven, microwave, or conventional oven to melt the cheese.

  • 1/4 cup oven baked sweet potato “french fries”
  • 1/2 cup 100% fruit juice with no sugar added

  • Stir fry – 1/2 cup mixed vegetables cooked with 1 ounce of chicken and served over 1/2 cup of brown rice
  • 1/2 cup milk

Toddler Menu #2

  • 1/2 cup oatmeal – prepare 1/4 cup of dry oatmeal with 1/2 cup milk. Toss in 1/2 cup of finely chopped nuts.

  • Fruit smoothie – Mix 1/2 cup of frozen berries with 1/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup yogurt in the blender. Pulse until desired consitency.

  • A grilled cheese sandwich made with 1 slice of whole grain bread and 1 slice of cheese
  • A salad made from 1/4 cup of salad greens (baby spinach and spring mix are nice because the leaves are small to begin with) and 2 tablespoons of chopped tomato

  • 1/4 cup of garbanzo or black beans
  • 1/2 cup applesauce

  • 1 ounce roast beef
  • 1/2 of a small baked potato
  • 1/4 cup green beans
  • 1/2 cup milk

This is the last post in my faux “what to feed your toddler” series. Have toddler feeding questions? Leave them in the comments or send me an email. If I get enough questions, I'll devote next week's Grace's Kitchen to answering them.

I'm easy like that, Dear Reader. The only thing I ask is that you link back here to Grace's Kitchen Friends in your post. I can't wait to see what your kids are doing!
