These 15 simple, quick, and easy DIY butterfly decorations will make your home beautiful with a feeling of spring all year round! These items are stunning room decor and make the walls look amazing.
When I was in the behavioral health program in 2011, I became intensely interested in butterflies. Everything they symbolize - a metamorphosis from something squishy and vulnerable into something beautiful and free - made me feel hope for my future. I already had one butterfly tattoo at that time, and I've added a bunch more since. Butterflies make me happy.
I get to see the beautiful and brightly colored butterflies on my left arm and the frequent visitors to my garden, but I wanted to bring the butterfly motif into my house in the form of wall decor. It felt important to me to make some pretty things that would remind me and my family that wherever we are and whatever we are, there is always the possibility of being reshaped and made new and beautiful by God.
It's an important message because He can make anyone new. It says in the Bible that "...anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT, written in a letter by the apostle Paul many years after the death of Jesus, to encourage the believers in the new church at Corinth). We can all reach a new life in Christ.
So with all that, I have been researching DIY butterfly projects that I could hang on my walls. I'm a huge crafter, but I don't like projects that are really detailed or really complicated. Most of what you see below could be created by a beginner (teen or adult) with very little skills. There are even a few that kids could enjoy and find success with.
I hope you'll share your own butterfly craft projects with me in the comments below.
